Gerrardanthus macrorhizus is a very interesting specimen plant. It is a deciduous caudiciform vine in the cucumber family that forms a very large caudex up to 1m in diameter. The caudex resembles a granite rock.
PLANT CARE
Light: The vine of Gerrandanthus macrorhizus can be placed in direct sunlight, but the caudex should stay in the shade.
Water: Gerrandanthus macrorhizus is drought tolerant. Water once soil is dry to the touch, about once a week.
Fertilizing: Fertilizing is generally not needed, but do be careful of overfeeding which will cause the root of Gerrandanthus macrorhizus to burn.
