DESCRIPTION
Common Names: Prayer Plant
Maximum Height: 0.6 m – 0.7 m
The plant gets its common name from the fact that its leaves stay flat during the day and then fold up like praying hands at night. The Maranta leuconeura species has some of the most strikingly beautiful, decorative leaves in the plant kingdom.
PLANT CARE
Light: Marantas does best with bright, indirect lighting. Excessive direct sun will scorch the plant’s leaves or the leaves will develop patches that fades its color.
Water: Water moderately and mist occasionally. Marantas are very susceptible to dry spells.
Fertilizing: Feed using a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer once every two weeks. Careful of root burn as roots are shallow and sensitive.
