Tomograph
Tomograph is an instrument to detect internal condition of trees. It measures the percentage of sound wood and decay or hollowed at a particular cross-section of a trunk or major branch. It is also a highly sophisticated decay detection and evaluation device which measures the velocity sound impulse (stress wave) passing through a tree.
The stress wave is induced by knocking with small hammer. The velocity of stress wave varies depending on the condition of wood it passes through. A software calculates the full-colour tomogram of the cross-section of the tree. Determination of the section to be measured is made by a Certified Arborist.
This equipment is the most useful tool for evaluation of the structure of the tree with wound. This is one of the available services of Tree Care+ Consultancy.
